Around The NHL

Frozen Frenzy: 32 teams, 16 games. So much happened.

Rather than going into every game of the night, I figured I’d spotlight my favorite part.

Miles Wood, Columbus Blue Jackets hero.

Columbus was trailing 3-2 to the Buffalo Sabres on the road. With 6:05 remaining in regulation, Wood scored his second of the year to even the score. Then in OT, he scored again to secure the second point for his club. Wood missed some time because of an injury, but he’s now got three goals in four games this season.

Not bad for an energy depth forward.

New Jersey Hockey Now: This wasn’t the return the Devils were hoping for from goalie Jacob Markstrom. He was in the crease for all eight Avalanche goals.
