Colorado Hockey Now

The Avalanche had two goals from four players for the first time in franchise history. They scored nine goals on the road for the second time since relocating. The eight-goal margin in a 9-1 victory over the Oilers was also a franchise road record. Nathan MacKinnon is feeling it. Cale Makar is feeling it.

The Avs are the best team in the league, and the Oilers were no match for them on Saturday.

San Jose Hockey Now: Macklin Celebrini had another goal and the Sharks won again. They have seven wins in their last 10 games and are slowly climbing into the playoff picture.

The 19-year-old Celebrini is tied with MacKinnon with 24 points, which leads the NHL. The next two on the list are 20-year-olds Leo Carlsson and Connor Bedard. I don’t know where the time went, but MacKinnon, now 30, is a whopping 10 years older than this trio of rising stars.

Montreal Hockey Now: Tied with MacKinnon for the league lead in goals, Cole Caufield was a hero again for the Habs against the suddenly struggling Utah Mammoth.

Boston Hockey Now: The Bruins can’t stop won’t stop. That’s six straight wins after snagging two points in Toronto thanks to a dagger of a goal from former Leaf Fraser Minten.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: The Pens deserved better against the Devils. But Jake Allen had other plans.
