Central Division: Dallas Stars Lose Superstar Defenseman To Injury

The Avalanche’s biggest rival and Central Division threat, the Dallas Stars, are going to be without one of their top defenseman for the foreseeable future.

The team announced on Saturday that Thomas Harley is out week-to-week with a lower-body injury.

Harley has reportedly been playing with the injury for a while. He has just two assists in his last nine games following a hot start to the season. He had eight points in his first nine games, and started the season with four points in the first two matchups.

When Dallas came to Ball Arena on Oct. 11, Harley had a goal and an assist. The Avs aren’t scheduled to play the Stars again until the later stages of the regular season.

Colorado leads the Central Division and the entire NHL with 29 points. Jared Bednar’s club has a whopping .806 points percentage, with just one regulation loss through the first 18 games. However, just like in past years, the Central Division remains dangerous in the early stages of the regular season.

Currently, the Stars are third in the NHL, trailing only the Avs and New Jersey Devils. The Utah Mammoth and Winnipeg Jets round out the top four in the Central so far.
