Key Stories to Watch

• Adversity has finally struck the Avalanche. Against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Colorado will be without team captain Gabe Landeskog, top-pair defenseman Devon Toews, starting goalie Mackenzie Blackwood, and depth forward Joel Kiviranta. All of them sustained injuries over the past week. Bednar said Landeskog and Toews are week-to-week.
• The Lightning are riding a seven-game winning streak, and will look to extend that against an Avalanche team that saw its 10-game run come to an end in South Florida on Sunday. Tampa Bay had its five-game winning streak snapped against the Avs two months ago.
• Colorado is likely riding with goalie Scott Wedgewood for the third time in three games, although it’s not confirmed that he’ll start.  Wedgewood played both back-to-back games over the weekend in Blackwood’s absence.
