Avalanche Game 45 vs Toronto Maple Leafs: Lines, Notes & How To Watch

Published

on

The Colorado Avalanche (33-4-7) continue their seven-game homestand on Monday against the Toronto Maple Leafs (22-15-7) in yet another throwback night featuring the Quebec Nordiques jerseys. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:08 p.m. MT.

Key Stories to Watch

  • The Avalanche will try to match their franchise-best 18-game home winning streak tonight. The only other time they accomplished the feat was in 2021-22, months before winning the Stanley Cup. Colorado is 19-0-2 at home, with both losses coming in a shootout in October.
  • The Maple Leafs are on fire lately, going 7-0-2 in their last nine games, which aligns with right around when assistant coach Marc Savard was fired and replaced by Steve Sullivan. Savard was running their struggling power play. Since Sullivan took over, Toronto has been operating at 35% on the power play (third in the NHL) and a whopping 95% on the penalty (first).
  • Toronto is 6-10-2 on the road this season, but has won three straight games, one of them on the road.
  • Trent Miner gets the nod for the second consecutive game. The 24-year-old earned his first career win and shutout against Columbus on Saturday. Head coach Jared Bednar said Scott Wedgewood is a little dinged up and will serve as backup. Mackenzie Blackwood remains out.
