Deen’s Daily: Nichushkin News, Makar Shreds Goal Call; Sherwood to… San Jose?!; GOALIE FIGHT!

Valeri Nichushkin was involved in a car accident on Monday. The Avalanche bounced back thanks to Nathan MacKinnon and no thanks to a brutal overturned goal. Also, the San Jose Sharks acquired a notable forward. And we had a goalie fight!

All that and more on this edition of Deen’s Daily — January 20.

We’ve got a lot to cover today.

The Avalanche got back in the winning column on Monday. Here’s how the game unfolded, and how Nathan MacKinnon reached 1,100 points in the process.

Also, the team announced just before warm-ups that Valeri Nichushkin would not play due to an upper-body injury. Head coach Jared Bednar later announced that he was involved in a car accident.

Makar had a goal overturned in the third period and couldn’t believe it. I asked him about it one-on-one after the game.
