
Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar were both named to top NHL All-Star teams for their play during the 2025-26 regular season.
MacKinnon, a superstar center, was named to the Second Team All-Star, while Makar, a standout defenseman, was named to the First Team All-Star.
MacKinnon, 30, led the NHL in goals with 53, earning his first Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy. His 127 points is his fourth consecutive season with more than 100. He finished third in points and assists. Edmonton’s Connor McDavid earned First-Team All-Star honors for centermen after winning the Art Ross Trophy with 138 points.
Makar, 27, received the second-most votes among defensemen, trailing only Norris Trophy winner Zach Werenski. Makar and Werenski filled in the two defense spots on the First Team All-Star list. Makar finished the season with 20 goals and 79 points in 75 games. It’s his third straight season and fourth overall with at least 20 goals.
Devon Toews, Martin Necas, Scott Wedgewood, and Mackenzie Blackwood also received votes.
