By Lars Mahrendorf, TAMPERE, Finland – After winning the first game of a back-to-back in Finland against the Blue Jackets, the Avalanche had an optional morning skate in Nokia Arena this morning. There were just a handful of players on the ice, and none of the first two lines and d-pairings. Some Avalanche lineup notes for the game today, per Jared Bednar:
- Andrew Cogliano, who was shaken up a little bit by a hit yesterday, seems to be ok for the second game. “I haven’t heard anything negative on Cogs,” Jared Bednar said.
- Valeri Nichuskin is a game-time decision again.
- UPDATE: Nichushkin won’t play.
- Logan O’Connor was dressed in sweatpants with just a helmet and no protection gear on and took a few turns with the puck.
- Bednar didn’t announce the starting goalie. Pavel Francouz was working on his own with goalie coach Jussi Parkkila.
- UPDATE: Georgiev starts.
