The Colorado Avalanche released their 2026 preseason schedule on Monday. Since it’s the first year of the new collective bargaining agreement, the preseason will consist of four games and will be completed within a week before the calendar turns to October.

The 2026-27 regular season is slated to begin in late September.

The Avs will play two sets of back-to-backs, with a three-day break in between to complete what is going to be an expedited training camp.

Colorado opens its preseason at home on September 20 against the Utah Mammoth. The following day, the Avs will travel to Winnipeg. After that, they’ll host the Jets on Friday the 25th before closing out the preseason on Saturday in Utah.

The regular season schedule will likely be announced in the coming weeks and will feature 84 games. The extra two games that were tacked on were collectively bargained to replace a more traditional six-game preseason.
