The Colorado Avalanche organization saw another coach depart their AHL squad for a position elsewhere, continuing a pattern from a season ago. Also, a busy offseason is about to begin.

All that and more on this edition of Deen’s Daily — June 16.

Colorado Hockey Now

I have some quick-hit stories from Monday. It’s a trio of ICYMI articles.

First, Joe Sakic was asked about the GM position last week. Here’s what he had to say.

Second, in true NHL fashion, Sakic kept it vague when asked about the injuries. He did provide some good news at the same time.

Lastly, another coach is departing the Avalanche organization. It’s one of their AHL assistants, who spent just one year in that role. The Avs have funneled coaches to other teams through the Eagles organization for more than a year now. It’s unfortunate to lose talent, but it also means you’re developing it well. In the grand scheme of things, it’s a positive sign.
