The Avalanche’s front office was scouting the Calgary Flames game in Anaheim. Does it mean anything? The Red Wings are looking to make a splash and a Vancouver Canucks star might be their big target. Also, Igor Shesterkin had a funny quote when asked about the New York Rangers retool.
All that and more on this edition of Deen’s Daily — March 2.
Colorado Hockey Now
Eric Francis, a reporter out in Calgary, tweeted on Sunday that the Avalanche’s entire front office was at the Calgary Flames at Anaheim Ducks game. This includes Chris MacFarland, Kevin McDonald, and Andrew Cogliano. Which is interesting.
On one hand, it could simply be because the Avs are in L.A. tonight and Anaheim tomorrow. On the other hand, they might be working on something geared towards the trade deadline. Hockey men going to hockey games isn’t always a story. But having the whole group there could mean something.
The deadline is creeping up quickly. We’ll have to wait and see if this means anything.
