The Colorado Avalanche gained some confidence back tonight by scoring a lot of goals. It was a back-and-forth game with speed rather than defense, but a win’s a win. Penalties became an issue for both teams as 15 penalties were called between the two teams. The penalty killers held down the fort allowing only two goals while on the kill. Special teams were the name of the game tonight and these are my takeaways from the 6-4 win against Buffalo, written in a style as if the game is happening in real time:

Period Two

Third Period

I am not sure what was happening with the penalties tonight as both teams played really undisciplined hockey. This type of hockey will not fly as they go into Boston on Saturday. The Bruins have won 13 at home alone, so the challenge will be there. Dater will be bringing you coverage from TD Garden in Boston, so make make sure to check back with us for all your coverage here!
