Takeaways from another Avs preseason loss, this time to Minnesota

Another loss, this one 4-3 to the Minnesota Wild. Yeah, it was the B team of Colorado that lost to the Wild’s A team, but that drops the Avs’ preseason record now to 0-3.

Some takeaways:

  • Conor Timmins was really good, and he scored a goal too. He scored a pretty goal after a deke that cut it to 4-3 in the third, but that’s obviously how it finished up. Timmins played 23:39, had four shots on net and blocked two shots. He attempted eight shots on net in the contest. Timmins is a really strong talent.
  • Jayson Megna had a great game for the Avs. He had a goal, assist and was plus-3. He scored with two seconds left in the second period that cut it to a 3-2 game.
  • As you can see, the Wild kind of dominated in puck possession:
