Nikita Zadorov: “Will be back really soon”

From Nikita Zadorov’s Instagram account. As you can see above, he’s got some surgical scars there on his lower left jaw, which was broken in Thursday’s game with Nashville after he took a puck there.

The game should have been stopped, by the way, but the referees dangerously let play go on.

Big Z is a tough dude. I bet he’ll be back in a week or two. Well, if the doctors will let him, that is. He’ll wear a cage if need be.

I’m still pissed about this. Would sure like to know just how much big Z feels let down be the very guys who should be protecting him. I thought his face said it all when he skated off. NHL refs in general seem to have a thing about the Avs and head injuries and hits and they seem to detest big Z in particular.

It does sound like the refs screwed up big time. Get well Z, you are a warrior out there.

I know Big Z takes a lot of ridicule for his penalties but he is a huge part of the Avs. With the number of superstars Big Z definitely keeps the opposing team honest. Joe needs to sign Big Z to fair long term contract this coming off season.
