Colorado Avalanche
Pavel Francouz starts again, against Flyers. Setback for Grubauer?

Just a brief notebook here:
Adam Werner was just recalled again from the Colorado Eagles, and he’ll serve as backup to Pavel Francouz tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers (7:30 start, because the game is on NBCSN – yes, Comcast/DISH subscribers, you can watch the game tonight).
I talked to Philipp Grubauer yesterday and he said he felt real good after practice, and he gave an emphatic “no” when I asked if he was worried about any recurring injury. Well, I guess the question now is: did he have a setback?
Guess we’ll know more later on that.
Francouz will try to atone for a shaky game against Calgary Monday. He will face a Flyers team that has some injury issues as well. They just lost leading scorer Travis Konecny to a concussion, and won’t have Oskar Lindblom tonight either. Lindblom has 11 goals in 30 games.
Nazem Kadri, as expected, returns to the lineup.
See you tonight.
Dater – have you seen an Avs team with this many significant injuries prior to the All Star break before?
I have, yes. I believe the 1997-98 Avs had as big a rash of injuries. I’ll try to get more official numbers, though, as time moves on
Better to make sure that he is 100% rather than take a chance and prolong the injury.
I think it really is paying off to have the Eagles up the street. No sense in playing anyone on the fence injury-wise if their on a home stand or not fighting for playoff positioning.
I think the Avs really missed Kadri Monday against the flames, it will be good to have his grit back in the game.
