One thing nobody has ever accused Ian Cole of being: too quiet.

The bearded, gap-toothed veteran defenseman of the Colorado Avalanche likes to talk. He’ll talk about the weather, how your day went, he’ll talk current movies, past movies, his favorite type of pasta, just about anything. And, of course, he likes to talk a lot about hockey.

So, Cole was not a player Jared Bednar had in mind, probably, when, on Friday night after an overtime loss to Pittsburgh, he openly proclaimed a desire that his players talk more.
