Colorado Avalanche

Philipp Grubauer gets another start

Published

on

This one will be brief:

Philipp Grubauer will start in goal for the Avalanche against San Jose tonight.

This is obviously Jared Bednar’s attempt to give Grubauer some confidence, that he hasn’t lost faith in him as the No. 1 goalie, and that he’s giving him every opportunity to get back to winning ways and feel better about life again. Pavel Francouz’s goalie numbers are better, across the board, than Grubi’s, but this team invested a lot in him and wants him to reclaim his throne.

But that starts with winning. Nothing else much matters in pro sports.

Same group of forwards and defensemen as the last game.

See you tonight.;

Maybe Bednar’s trying to get fired?
