Avalanche Mailbag: Is Matt Murray the best option in goal?

A slow Tuesday in September (it’s normally not that way, of course. One year ago today, the Avalanche were holding a day of training camp) so let’s do an Avalanche Mailbag. First question, about Matt Murray:

Is Matt Murray the best option for the Avs?

Eric, Matt Murray would be an option. Whether he’s the best option? Up for debate. He had a poor season, finishing with just an .899 saves percentage. Not good at all. Yet, he’s still only 26 and has two Stanley Cup rings as a starting goalie. You can’t manufacture that kind of experience. I know Joe Sakic has said he’s satisfied with his goaltending, but what do you expect him to say?
