Mikko Rantanen tips off Avs third jersey colors
So, Mikko Rantanen snapped a picture of a buddy for his Instagram Story feed, which is another clue that the Avs will feature some kind of third jersey this coming season to honor the Quebec Nordiques.
Here’s a tweet that shows the picture:

That’s the same shade of blue the old Nordiques used to wear, and are the same colors from the gloves of an Instagram post recently by Nathan MacKinnon.
Not sure who that buddy is, or why he’d wear those pants instead of Rantanen (maybe he’s got two pair). Either way, it’s more Pavlov’s Dog fodder of anticipation for jersey hounds.
I think they’d be super cool, and hopefully the Avs don’t put some funky thing on the front, like the abhorrence that were the outdoor game jerseys. I think they should just be the Nordiques logo and colors, with Avs patches below.
And I hope we can actually see these on people in a crowd some time soon. I would love it if the Avs could play a game in Quebec wearing these uniforms too. I would love it if Quebec could just get a team back. That’s pure hockey country. I thought they should have gotten a team in the last go-around.
The question of just how much corporate support they’d still be able to get in that city remains, but if cities like Winnipeg – which is basically like a big, small town, could get a team back, why not Quebec?
I doubt we’ll see NHL expansion again for at least a few years, especially after all these bad times because of the virus and what it’s done to the sports economy.
