Scott Takes: (In)consistency continues to crush Avs

Frustrated Avs coach

I tweeted about it just last week. I caught a lot of flack when I aired my grievances about it on social media. It is something I stand by, and last night was further proof.

By “it,” I’m referring to the Avs’ (in)consistency issues.

It is something that fellow Avs pundit and local Denver journalist Steve Staeger reminded Twitter of last night, amid another brutal collapse by the Avalanche.

After going up 2-0 against the San Jose Sharks, a team that is among the league’s basement dwellers this season — one of the bottom-three teams in the NHL heading into Monday night’s game — the Avs fizzled in a blaze of glory, burning up in dramatic fashion while allowing six unanswered to San Jose to fall 6-2.

It’s something I talked about on a recent podcast with dear friends of CHN, @Eurolanche. It’s what Steve is referring to in the tweet above.
