Cale Makar and Bo Byram return to Avs lineup tonight

Two pretty good defensemen will return to the Avs lineup tonight for their game with the streaking Minnesota Wild: Cale Makar and Bo Byram.

Avs coach Jared Bednar made it official just now, saying both have been cleared by the medical staff to play again. J.T. Compher has also been medically cleared, but he’ll be a healthy scratch tonight. The forward lines have just been too good of late to disrupt anything there.

Makar was running the first power play at the skate this morning. Sam Girard had been doing it in his stead. Girard, by the way, did not take part in the skate, taking treatment instead. But Bednar said he will play tonight.

Here is the lineup for the Avs against the hot Wild:

Landeskog-MacKinnon-Rantanen

Saad-Kadri-Burakovsky

Nichushkin-Jost-Donskoi

Calvert-Bellemare-O’Connor

D

Toews-Makar

Graves-Girard

Byram-MacDonald
