Ever gotten a tweet from Bobby Orr, commending you for your hockey play? Cale Makar has.

The iconic Orr, still considered the greatest defenseman of all time in NHL history, tweeted that at the Colorado Avalanche D-man just now.

I’m old, so kids today just kind of look at me blankly when I say the name Bobby Orr, but trust me kids, he was a revolutionary player in the game of hockey. He had 139 points one year as a defenseman.

Makar has drawn comparisons to Orr, most recently from the Great One, Wayne Gretzky.

This is just another feather in the cap of Makar, who only won a Norris Trophy, a Conn Smythe Trophy and the Stanley Cup in the last week.

And how was your week?

Still waiting for your apology to Bednar and the team for all the insults and piling on them after the few losses they did sustain the last couple months

He doesn’t apologize. It’s not part of his Emperor God’s playbook.

Bobby Orr: 74 years young and as cool as ever. #GOAT

Bobby Orr has 4’of the 13 best plus minus seasons in nhl history. It is a shame his career was cut short by knee injuries. He is only defenseman to lead NHL in scoring. Cale Makar is fun to watch but not best player on his team.
