Observations: Avalanche Preseason Game With Dallas (+)

Avalanche Stars

The Colorado Avalanche won a preseason game against the Dallas Stars tonight 3-1. The Avalanche had seven skaters make their preseason debut and had two defensemen playing as forwards (Kurtis MacDermid and Jacob MacDonald). For the most part the roster is set, with just a few players vying for the last couple of spots.

Ben Meyers had a game worth mentioning; he showed some improvement today compared to previous games in which he has been quite.

This was just a matter of routine for the veterans, getting their “game feet” back before the season starts. Coach Jared Bednar had mentioned that he wanted to get most, if not all of the veterans, two games in the preseason. We maybe lucky to see Darren Helm and Val Nichushkin as they recover from last season. Nathan MacKinnon took a puck to the face yesterday during practice, so it is unknown whether he will play on Wednesday or not.
