Brad Hunt Clears Waivers, Assigned to Eagles

On Sunday, Brad Hunt cleared waivers for the Colorado Avalanche.

As soon as he cleared, the Avalanche announced he has been reassigned to the Colorado Eagles in the AHL.

It’s a small surprise that Hunt cleared, but only due to his low salary. Hunt has another year on his contract, and teams don’t typically love committing to an extra year on a depth player.

Hunt being assigned to the Eagles is likely good news for the health of at least one defenseman.

Erik Johnson left Saturday’s game after blocking a shot and did not return. Josh Manson went on the trip and should be getting a little closer to return. Back in Denver, Cale Makar has been skating with Darren Helm, an encouraging sign in his recovery.

We’ll learn more at practice on Monday. Stay tuned to CHN for additional updates.
