We are inching closer and closer to the official start of the offseason for every team in the NHL, because the Vegas Golden Knights are now just one win away from a Stanley Cup championship.

And this offseason looks like it will be a wild one. The Winnipeg Jets can’t seem to convince anyone to stick around, as Connor Hellebuyck won’t sign an extension with them. In addition, multiple new names are starting to pop up in trade chatter around the league.

All that and more in this Sunday edition of Evan’s Daily.

After Damon Severson’s rights fetched a third round pick for the New Jersey Devils, the Avalanche need to explore a similar return for J.T. Compher if they are unable to get him signed in the next few weeks.

On Sunday, look for some names to watch that may not get qualifying offers from their teams. There’s usually some interesting players that find their way to market every year.

Stanley Cup Final

It got a little dicey late, but the Golden Knights held on to win Game Four of the final by a score of 3-2. They now will have three separate cracks at winning the title over the next week, if they need them all.

Here’s some reaction from the Panthers locker room.

NHL Trade Chatter

Everyone wants to leave the Winnipeg Jets. Just a few days after Pierre-Luc Dubois asked to be moved, it appears that Connor Hellebuyck has told the Jets he will not sign an extension with them. That means he’s likely to get moved this year as well. That’s one Central Division team that appears as though they’ll be moving out some high-end players.

In that same article, a lot of interesting names are being thrown around in NHL circles. Travis Konecny, Scott Laughton, and some names from the Calgary Flames might soon be joining that list. Noah Hanifin is already one player who is being asked about by teams.
