What you’ll be reading here is what a real-life in-game scouting report looks like. It was done by Scott Masters, who has done some work for the site before. Scott has a long resume as a pro scout in the NHL and lives in the Denver area. Scott sat down and did a scouting report on the Avs for Game 4 last night.

Scouts on a normal basis pick 5-6 players on each team to scout or report on for that game. It is way too hard to watch all 19 players on each team. Scouts will tend to focus on the quality of a report more than quantity.
Scouts do not care about team performance but for the sake of this piece I will point out a few key thoughts.
