The Colorado Avalanche lost a key front office piece. Ivar Stenberg became the first 2026 draft pick to sign his entry-level deal. Also, the Rangers might have more coming, the Devils still need a goalie, and Detroit is stuck in a weird place this offseason.

All that and more on this edition of Deen’s Daily — July 3.

Aside from a very important Cale Makar piece of business to get done, and maybe even Artturi Lehkonen, the Avalanche are likely going to have a quiet summer from here on out.

They did announce their Rookie Showcase schedule on Thursday.

We also learned that one of their key analytics guys has departed the organization to join Chris MacFarland in Nashville.
